Youth Assistance Program (YAP)

Centers for Family Development, Inc.'s Youth Assistance "Passport" Program (YAP) is an after school program that assists youth in developing healthy lifestyles, values, and self-awareness, by providing Positive Youth Development activities, counseling, homework assistance, cultural-enrichment, structured recreation, and exposure to additional career options. We service specific zip codes on the eastside of Detroit. Referrals are accepted from the community, the Wayne County Prosecutor's office, and/or the Juvenile Assessment Center.

Program Goal

YAP's program goals are two-fold: (1) To provide community-based prevention services to youth and their families; empowering them to maintain delinquency-free activities during their daily living at home, school, and in the community. (2) To provide support and growth-inducing life experiences that will prevent involvement in the juvenile justice system.
